called by name
Your richest hour your roughest path it knows

Like the rain on thirsty land
Sweet music for your dance
The saving grace of God’s own hand
Will change you in the hands of love
Take these hands and never let them go
To life you up and guide you like a good friend
That you know
And a promise that comes from above
That you’d be carried
Carried by the hands of love”
The Hands of Love by Peter Mayer

Waiting on the best of you
Be prepared to wait a while”

Has been mystified by grace
Loving arms swept me away

We are broken at the seams
We are FILLED with Holy Water”

Heaven help us all
If we should fall from Love

I say maybe so
But God only knows
where would I be without you?

all the while I’m tumblin’ barrel rollin’
What a crazy way to save me”

It's our common ground, the gift we are given

Were here long before us and meant for all children

We'll build a home for love in this family
For the light that brought us here

“Waterfall drink your fill
Washing over you it spills
Night and day it’s runnin’ wild
We’re born to be a river child
Tossed about like a toy
From the badlands to good soil
We could’ve never bargained for
The might ride of Joy
This is love that’s been spilled
This is grace that is willed
Every empty heart be filled
Waterfall waterfall”

- And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.
16For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.
17Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”

- Perfect in Weakness 021608 Saturday

- This site uses Flash Player 10
“Still...
We are scattered in pieces
Still...
We hope strength will release us
Still...
Your Love is perfect in weakness
Gathers us in
And again and again and again and again
Still In One Peace...
Still In One Peace...
Still In One Peace by Peter Mayer

- A Whale of A Tale 021508 February 15, 2008
- Listen:
- This site uses Flash Player 10
- I don’t know if Peter is intentionally singing about Jonah ben Amittai (which literally means) Jonah the Dove, Son of Truth or not. But, I do know that Jonah along with some of us have at times in our lives tried to run from “the presence of the Lord.”

- A Shepherd's Eye 021308 Wednesday, February 13
- Listen:
- This site uses Flash Player 10
- “What if Love was a shepherd’s eye
Could see one lost for the 99
And Faith and hope were a tiny seed
That could bloom into a family tree
And you’re Still in One Peace
Still in One Peace
We are blessed we are broken
Give one more change to be
Found in you we are one
In One Peace”
Still In One Peace by Peter Mayer

- In this blueprint for living
From the word that touched the earth
Round this house we plant a Garden
God’s grace is our rebirth
Lend your voice in celebration
Lend your hand in lifting up
This is the day of creation
Built on the cornerstone of love”
Blueprints by Peter Mayer and Jim Mayer

- Faith In Angels 021108 Monday, February 11
- Listen:
- This site uses Flash Player 10
- “Have a little faith in angels
You never know where they might be
Have a little faith in angels
And you might begin to see
If you have a little faith in you and me
Ask me how the sun crosses the sky
Or the wind can bend the tree
And I'll ask you how a love can survive
If we don't believe what we can't see”
Faith in Angels by Peter Mayer

- BREAK THE BREAD 020908 Saturday, February 9th
- Listen:
- This site uses Flash Player 10
- I was at a wedding rehearsal many years ago when the presiding pastor told the soon to be bride and groom and the approximately 18 wedding party attendants and the 60 or so members of the wedding entourage that the literal meaning of the word “companion”
was: One who breaks bread with you.
His point of course was well taken, be “companions.” Take time to break bread with each other.

- Mystery 020808 Friday, February 8th
- Listen:
- This site uses Flash Player 10
- If you read or listened to yesterday’s devo “IN A BOX” you will recall that I wrote a fair amount about the feelings of Mary and Martha as well as Jesus. However, there is very little Biblical data regarding what Lazarus was thinking and feeling following his “come back” or more appropriately “come out” experience.

- In A Box 020708 Thursday, February 7th, 2008
- Listen:
- This site uses Flash Player 10
- Yesterday was Ash Wednesday. Peter's words tell it as it is,
“I’ve believed betrayed swayed and discussed
Still I feel like a wrapped up Lazarus"
The picture on this page is of me as a little kid in a box. I liked being in a box at that time. However, since that time, I've gotten into some boxes (either of my own accord or placed there by others). I also need to confess that I've put others in a box from time to time. Consequently, either in perception or in reality their potential and gifts have been limited by my inability to grant them the freedom of expression which I naturally crave and desire for myself and from others. Additionally, I have probably tried to put God in a box from time to time, too. May, you have done that or attempted to do that as well.
